Board of Trustees Policy 1215.1
DETERMINATION OF RESIDENCY FOR ADMISSION TO SCHOOL OF MEDICINE
The original PDF version of this policy is linked from the revised date below.
The policies on residency and admission which apply to other divisions of the University do not apply to the School of Medicine, University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Residency and admission to the School of Medicine are regulated by Act 139 of the 1957 General Assembly. Following a careful study of present procedures for applying Act 139, it is recommended that the following procedures be approved for determining residency for students seeking admission to the School of Medicine:
1. That the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences be authorized to make decisions on whether or not a given applicant for admission to the College of Medicine fulfills residency requirements.
2. If ever the decision of the Vice Chancellor is challenged, the matter will be referred to the President, whose decision will be final.
